Who is protecting our youth from concussions?

A great editorial appears in today's New Jersey Star Ledger urging greater action to protect those engaged in youth sports from the dangers of concussions. Who is protecting our youth? asks the Star-Ledger.  Turns out the answer is no one!

Pointing to the need for better education of coaches and trainers (the Star-Ledger points out that minimal training is provided to coaches where the emphasis is protection against law suits rather than player protection), the need for uniform standards on the State and Federal level and the importance of pre-season base line testing, the editorial deserves reading by all policy makers involved in dealing with the public health crisis of brain injury.
