New York State Traumatic Brain Injury Services Coordinating Council: Meeting Agenda

The next meeting of the New York State Traumatic Brain Injury Services Coordinating Council, which I am proud to chair has been scheduled for Thursday, June 9, 2008 from 10 AM until 2 :30 PM.

The focus of this meeting is Traumatic Brain Injury and Domestic Violence with speakers exploring the service needs of individuals who have sustained a TBI as a result of domestic violence.  I have recently explored this subject with domestic violence support staff who have been frustrated with the availability of services and information that is currently available for their clients.

This important meeting will be held in the Capital District at the  Capital  District Development Disabilities Services office, Oswald Heck Developmental Center, Building No. 3, room 6 at 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY.  The meeting will also be broadcast via satellite to the Rochester, New York area at the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Services office, 620 Westfall Road, Rochester, NY and in New York City at the Developmental Disabilities Regional Office located at 75 Morton Street.

For further information, please contact the council coordinator, Dawn Crary at the NYS Dept of Health.

The Council was created by act of the New York legislature in 1994 and is charged with recommending to the Department of Health, long range objectives, goals and priorities in the area of traumatic brain injury.  It is also charged with providing advice on the planning, coordination and development of needed services.
