All Head Injuries Must Be Treated Seriously

Demonstrating again that their is no such thing as a "mild" head injury, Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards is reported to be having neurosurgery today to evacuate a brain hemorrhage that developed following his fall from a tree earlier this week.

While initial evaluations were that he suffered no injury as a result of his fall, his continued complaints of headaches caused his doctors to take further tests including, presumably CT scans which showed some bleeding in the brain.  If this condition is allowed to continue, the cerebral pressure would build up in this closed space causing significant brain damage.

This story just shows how wrong the emergency room can be in evaluating head trauma.  To read the full story click here .
