Brain Injury Survivor and Family Program

Just a reminder that this Saturday, March 11th, a Survivor and Family Symposium designed to bring families of brain injury survivor's together on Long Island will be held at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, New York from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The program is jointly sponsored by Transitions of Long Island, an inpatient and outpatient brain injury rehabilitation facility affiliated with North Shore University Hospital and the Brain Injury Association of New York State.

Scheduled presentations include a motivational talk on accepting the challenges following a  traumatic brain injury; how brain injury is perceived by the mass media and how to advocate for yourself and your family member following brain damage.

I plan on attending and providing a brief overview of the Brain Injury Association and our mission, to improve the quality of life for persons with brain injury, their family and friends and preventing future brain injuries from occurring.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.  More information can be obtained by contacing the executive director of Transitions of Long Island, Dr. Deborah Benson, PhD.
