Repeated Concussions May Cause Dementia
Repeated concussions to football players caused by repeated blows to the head, increase their risk of suffering dementia including mild cognitive impairment according to a new study which is to be presented at a Congress of Neurosurgery scientific meeting to be held in Boston. Thanks to the Science blog for reporting this study to us. The long term risk increases with the number of concussions sustained by the players according to the study authors.
