Neurosurgeon Wins Award For Her Work On Concussions

Congratulations to Dr. Karen Johnston a Montreal Neurosurgeon, internationally, well known, for her work on concussions, in winning the 2005 Pashby Sport Safety Award.  The award was given to Dr. Johnston for her outstanding work to prevent catastrophic injuries in sports and recreational activities.

Dr. Johnston is well known for her expertise in the field of concussions and her her interest in injury prevention.  Dr. Johnston is the director of the concussion program at the McGill University Sports Medicine Clinic.  She also chairs the concussion sub-committee for the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine and the Concussion in Sports Group.  She also sits on various international committees dealing with sports injury.  You can read more about Dr. Johnston and her award by clicking here .
