The Virginia Commonwealth University's Rehabilitation, Research and Training Center will be offering an on line course entitled, “Supported Employment for Individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury” from May 30, 2011-June 27, 2011.
The Stated Course Overview is:
Some individuals with TBI have difficulty gaining and maintaining employment in community settings. Supported Employment is a vocational rehabilitation approach that has been used to assist individuals returning to work post injury. This 4-week online course will include an overview of TBI and vocational implications, research on Supported Employment and Traumatic Brain Injury, strategies for getting to know the job seeker, developing viable work opportunities, on-the-job support strategies including compensatory memory strategies, and ways of enhancing job retention.
Individuals who complete the course may earn 1.6 CEUs or 16 CRCs and a Certificate of Completion
