The Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of America announced the appointment of Susan H. Connors, as BIAA's President and CEO, effective February 1, 2005.
For a decade, Susan Connors has been a tireless and passionate advocate for individuals who experienced brain injury and their families, BIAA state affiliates, state agencies, and brain injury professionals nationwide. She served in BIAA's State Affairs Department from 1995 to 2001 and as the National Association of State Head Injury Administrator’s Executive Director from 2001 to January 31, 2005.
As President of the Brain Injury Association of New York State, I have had the privilege of working with Susan over the years. Her knowledge of TBI service delivery issues is vast. She has an immense and deep commitment to the brain injury field. Susan's leadership at BIAA will ensure continued progress and a stronger collaboration with the association's partners. The Brain Injury Association of America is the national organization devoted to the mission of improving the quality of life for persons with brain injury. BIAA has been instrumental in focusing government and public attention on the needs of persons with brain injury including effective treatment, support services as well injury prevention. The association has played the lead role in the passage of the Traumatic Brain Injury Technical Assistance Act, its recent reauthorization and increased funding by Congress. It is vitally important that we support the work of our national association.
